White House

.... DC or Bust

TRUTH Youth group is well on the way to the Washington DC Mission trip in August. We want to thank our church family from the bottom of our hearts for your support and kindness with our many fundraisers. Our goal is to raise air fare for the 10 of us who will be attending. The money raised for the Papa Murphy take and bake pizza fundraiser was $400. We are planning a spaghetti dinner and movie April 25 & 26. The movies we will see are “It’s a Mad, Mad World” and “The Great Race.” The response has been tremendous and promises to be fun for the participants and the Youth servers. Our next fundraiser will be a Slave Auction just in time for Spring cleaning. We will auction our hearty youth, one at a time, to work for a maximum of 3 hours. The buyer and individual youth will work out a time suitable for both. In June we will have a pancake breakfast for the church. July we will have a game table for kids at Duck Creek Days as well as sell our famous Goofy Ball game sets. Then August is it…we’re off to DC. We will be working with Columbia Baptist Church youth in a homeless shelter, food pantry, medical warehouse for missions and more. The people at Columbia Church have been so helpful in setting up ministry opportunities and homes for us to stay in. We can’t wait to finally meet them in person.

Our Sunday School classes have been geared towards preparing the youth to minister once we reach DC. We are currently studying our Duck Creek Community Church’s Mission Statement, what it means to us and others. It is a good solid Bible foundation. Ask any of the youth about the Wordless key chain. They will be happy to share.

Again, thank you for your support and prayer. We couldn’t do it without you.
